Mahleb

Mahleb is a spice made from the seeds of St Lucy’s cherry. It has a floral and almondy flavour with a hint of vanilla – subtle and fruity when cooked. Try it in short biscuits, in sugar syrups to go over fruit salad or to flavour whipped cream in the same way as you would use vanilla.
